A tear slipped down her face as she cried,
Upset to realize that she never tried.
Things can change so fast,
Making her wish to be in the past.
“I should have told him,” she cried into the night.
She knew that she was his only light.
His life had ended,
And she knew she hadn’t tended
To the calling she had been given,
To tell all that through Christ, they could be forgiven.
She kept her mouth shut,
Never saying words that would cut.
She wiped her eyes and heard God say,
“Today will be a new day.
Stop listening to you,
I have power to forgive you too.”
