Our Strength FAILS, But Our God NEVER Does!

I have found it really easy the past few weeks to get overwhelmed and stressed out. Life is crazy, and school is a lot of pressure.

But I realized the other night that I was getting stressed out and overwhelmed because of ME. Not school. Not work. ME.

When I rely on myself and my own strength, I always end up tired, exhausted, disappointed, and empty.

But Isaiah 40:26-31 tells me where true strength, peace, and rest come from.

“Lift up your eyes on high and see: who created these? He who brings out their host by number, calling them all by name, by the greatness of his might, and because he is strong in power not one is missing. Why do you say, O Jacob, and speak, O Israel, ‘My way is hidden from the Lord, and my right is disregarded by my God’? Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”

Verse 26 begins by saying that God created the universe by the power of His Hand. He knows every star by name.

How amazing is it to think that He named the stars yet knows us?

He did not need us. He chose us.

He chose us with His great love and mercy.

Even when we feel like life is too hard, and we can’t go on, GOD IS THERE.

When we fail, He never does. When we grow tired, He doesn’t. We grow exhausted, and He never will.

In our own strength, we only end up empty, searching for something within us that does not exist.

Power and rest only comes from God. It is not OUR power, but it is His power IN us.

Even though we WILL grow tried and exhausted, when we trust and depend on God, He gives us HIS strength!

With HIS power, strength, comfort, and rest, we will be renewed. We will be rested. We will have peace.

Life gets hard. But we have to chose to trust and depend on God rather than ourselves. It is only in daily surrender that we can persevere when things gets tough.
